# Connect Google

> Connect your Google account to Rogus and choose a Merchant Center account, so feeds can be sent to Google directly.

Connecting Google lets Rogus send products to Merchant Center directly, instead of you registering a feed URL and waiting for Google to fetch it.

Connecting is optional. The feed URL works without it, and it is the simpler path if you already have Merchant Center fetching a file. See [The feed URL](/feeds/feed-url).

## What connecting gives you

* **Send products directly**, rather than publishing a file for Google to collect
* **See what Google did with them** — how many are live, and which were rejected and why
* **Updates go across sooner**, because there is no fetch schedule in between

## Connect your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Google in the Rogus menu">
    The page shows whether anything is connected yet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Press Connect Google">
    A Google sign-in window opens. Sign in with the Google account that has access to your Merchant Center, and approve the request.

    Rogus asks for access to your Merchant Center content only. It cannot read your Gmail, your Drive, or anything else.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a Merchant Center account">
    If your Google account can reach more than one Merchant Center account, Rogus lists them and you pick one. Products go to that account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The page then shows which Google account is connected and which Merchant Center account is selected.

## One Merchant Center account per store

A Shopify store connects to exactly one Merchant Center account. That is a deliberate limit: sending the same products to two accounts is nearly always a mistake, and it is not recoverable from the Rogus side once it has happened.

To move to a different Merchant Center account, disconnect and connect again.

## Disconnecting

**Disconnect** removes your Google connection and the stored access from Rogus.

What it does *not* do is remove your products from Merchant Center. They stay in Google exactly as they were, and Rogus simply stops updating them.

<Warning>
  Products in Merchant Center **expire 30 days** after their last update. So after disconnecting, your listings do not vanish at once — they stop being refreshed and then fall out over the following month. If you are moving to a URL-based feed instead, set that up before disconnecting.
</Warning>

## If access is lost

Google access can end without you doing anything: a password change, revoking the app in your Google account settings, or a Google security policy.

When that happens Rogus shows **Google access was lost** and stops trying. Press **Connect Google** again to restore it. Nothing about your feeds changes in the meantime — the file and its URL are unaffected.

## "Google is not set up on this environment"

This message means the Rogus installation you are using has not been configured for Google at all, which is not something you can fix from your side. Contact support at [dev@frimty.com](mailto:dev@frimty.com).
